Salix integra ‘Flamingo’ – The showstopper of our nursery
The Salix integra ‘Flamingo’ is a protected cultivar renowned for its striking pink-tinted foliage, making it a favorite among garden enthusiasts. Its vibrant colors are most prominent in spring, particularly from week 19, which is the optimal time for delivery. This variety is available on various stem heights and in shrub form in different pot sizes (P12, P17, and P19). Additionally, exclusive forms such as the braided stem and spiral stem are offered.
This willow on stem serves as an excellent focal point in garden borders or as a standalone specimen. It’s often planted on both sides of driveways or grouped together for a cohesive look. In shrub form, it’s suitable for bedding, as a solitary plant, or as a hedge. The plant thrives in moist conditions, making it an ideal choice for planting near ponds or water features. While it can be kept in a pot, regular watering is essential.
To maintain its compact shape and promote vibrant foliage and branching, regular pruning is crucial. This is typically done in late winter or early spring, cutting back the previous season’s growth entirely. An additional pruning session in summer can encourage a fresh burst of colorful growth. The Salix integra ‘Flamingo’ is a fast grower, ensuring a quick transformation of your garden space.
